Our Mission

Livable Snohomish County Coalition (LSCC) exists as an educational, advocacy and networking opportunity for the residents of Snohomish County. The Mission of LSCC is to "Provide a Livable Snohomish County By Preserving Our Quality of Life." LSCC goals are to:

  • Preserve a Snohomish County which has a high quality of life.
  • Protect our neighborhoods from Irresponsible Development
  • Ensure good long-range planning for future growth
  • Preserve rural character and lands for future generations

These goals will encompass many avenues for the membership.

This website is provided in part from funding from TogetherGreen, and hosted by 7-Lakes. It is a tool to allow the LSCC to have a single source website for useful information as we work together toward a livable Snohomish County.

Growth Management Act

Have you ever wondered what the Growth Management Act (GMA) is really all about? This year is its 20-year Anniversary and Tim Trohimovich, the Co-Director of Planning & Law at Futurewise (www.futurewise.org), has created an excellent PowerPoint presentation on why Washington State passed the GMA 20 years ago and outlines its goals and requirements, comprehensive plans, Growth Management Hearing Boards, etc.

Very informative!
